1. The CG Physician Assistant (PA) program has two post graduate psychiatry fellowship
training billets available for AY20. IAW REF (A), this opportunity is only available to
credentialed CG PAs with the MED-11 officer specialty code. Two CG PAs may be selected
currently for the psychiatry fellowship to commence summer AY20. The fellowship positions
are held at Regions Hospital in Saint Paul, MN, for 12 months, with an expected start
date of 01 July 2020. CG PA officers who complete this fellowship should expect to be
assigned based on needs of the service to a CG clinic collocated or geographically
aligned with a credentialed CG psychiatrist. In addition, the selectees will be required
to obtain a MN state PA license as soon as possible, and apply for hospital privileges at
Regions Hospital as soon as the MN state PA license has been approved.
2. Eligible, interested officers should route a one-page memorandum request through
their OER chain of command including unofficial copies of PA program transcripts and
one letter of recommendation as attachments, scanned and sent to CDR Charlene Criss no
later than 15 August 2019. The memorandum should articulate why the applicant is seeking
postgraduate training and acknowledge that a service obligation of three years IAW
REF (B) will be incurred as well as a follow-on utilization tour as determined by
PSC-OPM and COMDT (CG-112). Candidates for these programs must be approved by the
specific training site prior to official selection, and this additional process will
include a telephone interview.
