Coast Guard promotes safe boating in DC on Memorial Day
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Coast Guard Auxiliary and active duty members will be available for media interviews pertaining to boating safety and the Coast Guard Auxiliary’s role in the National Capital Region on Memorial Day.
WHO: Coast Guard Auxiliary and active duty members
WHAT: Providing information on safe boating practices
WHERE: Recreation Pier at the Wharf, 1001 7th Street SW, Washington, DC 20024
WHEN: May 27, 2019, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Auxiliary members will discuss the importance of life jackets, local boating hazards, essential and recommended boating equipment, and other aspects of boating safety.
National Safe Boating Week is a campaign during which the National Safe Boating Council, U.S. Coast Guard, and other federal, state and local agencies promote safe boating practices prior to Memorial Day Weekend.
