SUBJ: SOLICITATION FOR 31ST GREAT MINDS IN SCIENCE TECHNOLOLGY ENGINEERING AND MATHEMATICS
(GMiS) AWARDS
1. This ALCOAST solicits submissions for the 31st Annual GMiS Hispanic Engineer National
Achievement Awards Corporation (HENAAC) Conference and Award Show. The awards honor the nations
most distinguished Hispanic engineers, scientists, mathematicians, and technology experts as
well as those that support and enhance the Hispanic community. These awards allow the USCG to
highlight role models in an effort to inspire and encourage young people to pursue USCG Science
Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)-focused careers.
2. GMiS will recognize the below award categories during the 31st Annual GMiS HENAAC Conference
and Award Show at Hotel Disney's Coronado Springs Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL, from 25-29
September 2019:
a. Executive Excellence;
b. Outstanding Technical Achievement;
c. Professional Achievement I & II;
d. Lifetime Achievement;
e. Entrepreneur;
f. Most Promising Engineer or Scientist: Undergraduate & Advanced Degree;
g. Santiago Rodriguez Diversity Award;
h. Community Service;
i. Education Distinction; and
j. Special Awards/Engineer & Scientist of the Year.

Nomination packages shall include the following:
a. Online nomination form;
b. Nominator statement;
c. Resume;
d. Full job description;
e. Organization Chart (if classified don’t provide);
f. Biography;
g. Recommendation Letters;
h. Color Photograph that is at least 300 dpi or higher;
i. Synopsis of key research (for technical award categories only); and
j. Articles about the Nominee (if applicable).
4. All Nomination packages must be submitted online using the GMiS Online Application Process
found at: http://www.greatmindsinstem.org/professionals/nominations-guidelines no later than
31 May 2019.
