SUBJ: SOLICITATION FOR THE 2019 CIVIL RIGHTS SERVICE PROVIDER (CRSP) OF THE YEAR AWARD
1. The Coast Guard (CG) Civil Rights Directorate is requesting nominations for the
Civil Rights Service Provider (CRSP) of the Year Award. This award will recognize a
military member or civilian employee whose outstanding contributions ensure the success

1 May 2019. Nomination packages, with a command cover letter must be sent to the Point

2. CRSPs are a vital link between civilian employees, military members, and management

c. Demonstrated initiative, cooperation, and adaptability while providing superior
customer service.
d. Demonstrated sound working knowledge of all aspects of the equal opportunity and
civil rights missions.

workforce.
f. Developed an organizational culture that values equal opportunity and demonstrates
strong support for conducting cultural awareness activities.
g. Supported the use of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and mediation to resolve
complaints.
h. Promoted community outreach by building a positive public image of the CG and
strongly supported the Partnership in Education (PIE) Program or other community
outreach projects.
i. Sustained superior job performance and committed no infractions of good order and
discipline during the past two years.
4. All Coast Guard leaders (HQ Directors, commanding officers/officers in charge, managers
and supervisors) are encouraged to nominate a CRSP located within the CG areas, districts
and units who have provided superior civil rights services. All Civil Rights Regional
Directors are required to nominate at least one CRSP within or outside of their
supervisory chain.
5. Nomination packages shall include the following in MS Word format:
a. Letter of recommendation, not more than two pages, describing the meritorious
accomplishments that support the award criteria.

left and right margins) highlighting the nominee's accomplishments.
