Berkley Bridge Opening for Dead Ship Tow Transit
At Mile 0.4 on the Elizabeth River Eastern Branch
Mariners are advised that in conjunction with VDOT, the Berkley Bridge will be opening at approximately 6 a.m. on May 1, 2019 to facilitate the dead ship tow transit of the USS GUNSTON HALL to Colonna’s Shipyard.
The dead ship tow of the 610 foot USS GUNSTON HALL will be transiting the Elizabeth River from Marine Hydraulics International (MHI) facility to its final destination of Colonna’s Shipyard on the Eastern Branch. Interested mariners may contact the primary towing vessel Rosemary McAllister on marine band radio VHF-FM channel 16 or 13. Mariners are requested to keep clear of the tow and lead tug.
