B. Enlisted Postgraduate and Advanced Education Programs for AY 2020, ALCGENL 053/19
1. This message solicits enlisted candidates for Coast Guard advanced education opportunities
sponsored by DCMS. The purpose of these programs is to develop the advanced knowledge and skills
necessary to perform required duties and responsibilities as well as providing developmental
incentives for personnel with high ability, dedication, and the capacity for professional growth
to remain in the Coast Guard. Graduates of these advanced education programs will be placed in
positions of significant responsibility directly impacting Coast Guard missions, systems, and
resources. Members desiring a challenging career with a range of opportunities in positions of
increasing responsibility are encouraged to apply.
2. Students will be selected for studies in the following advanced education programs as
allocated in REF (A):
A. Advanced Computer, Engineering, and Technology
B. Army Sergeants Major Academy
C. Aviation Maintenance Technology
D. Culinary Management (Culinary Arts)
E. Damage Control Industrial Technology
F. Financial Accounting
G. Health Care Administration (Undergrad)
H. Performance Technology
I. Yeoman Business Administration
3. Advanced education programs are described in detail at the DCMS-81 CGPortal site:
https://cg.portal.uscg.mil/units/dcms81/AdvEd/SitePages/Home.aspx. Enlisted members are reminded
that the deadline to apply for any of these programs is 28 JUN 2019.
4. Most programs require recent standardized test scores to compete for selection. Applicants
must proactively schedule testing to ensure that final results are submitted prior to panel
convening dates. These test scores are subsequently used to meet admission requirements. Test
fees may be reimbursed. Contact your unit ESO for details.
5. Specific application instructions were published by PSC in REF (B). Consult the DCMS-81
Advanced Education Guide for questions regarding the application and selection process.
