SUBJ: FY2019 CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER (CDC) TOTAL FAMILY INCOME (TFI) RANGES
1. The Total Family Income (TFI) ranges have changed for FY18-19 for all U.S. Coast
Guard (CG) Child Development Centers (CDC), effective 1 October 2018. The following
family income ranges will be applied to the nine TFI categories as follows:

II                        $35,526 - $39,491
III                       $39,492 - $51,108
IV                       $51,109 - $63,884
V                         $63,885 - $81,310
VI                        $81,311 - $94,032
VII                       $94,033 - $110,625
VIII                     $110,626 - $138,330
IX                        $138,331 +
2. CG CDC’s will have until 1 February 2019 to apply the new income ranges to the
nine TFI income categories which establish fees for patrons. Patrons will be notified
by CDC management of any changes to individual patron fees 30 days prior to implementation.
3. Community members and contractors are not entitled to any governmental subsidies and
shall be charged fees comparable to the local child care market. Each CDC will establish
fare market fees for all enrolled Community members and contractors.
4. Commanding officers and officers-in-charge are encouraged to disseminate this
information to all families through all available means, including the unit ombudsman.
