SUBJ: CHANGE 2 TO TEMPORARY SEPARATIONS, COMDTINST M1040.6
A. Temporary Separations, COMDTINST M1040.6
1. This ACN announces the promulgation of Change 2 to REF (A).
2. This change updates REF (A) making the Commander, Coast Guard Personnel Service
Center (CG PSC) the waiver authority and COMDT (CG-133) the waiver appeal authority
for temporary Separations (TEMPSEP), adds three new items to the annual report and
requires the annual report to COMDT (CG-13) be routed through COMDT (CG-133).
3. Promotion has been removed as an example of a benefit received that would incur
additional obligated service. This change also removes the restriction for members
with a 3 or less in any Enlisted Evaluation Review Summary in the last 4 years to
participate in the TEMPSEP program, removes surrogacy as a reason to request TEMPSEP,
and allows members in pay grade E3 and below who submit a unrestricted report of
sexual assault to participate in the TEMPSEP program.
4. All references to the Enlistments, Evaluations, and Advancements, COMDTINST
M1000.2 (series) have been updated.
