SUBJ: SOLICITATION FOR EISENHOWER SCHOOL SENIOR ACQUISITION PROGRAM FOR CIVILIANS
1. This ALCOAST solicits GS-14 and GS-15 civilian applicants interested in being
considered for selection to attend the Class of 2020 Eisenhower School for National
Security and Resource Strategy, at Fort Lesley J McNair on the National Defense
University campus. This class convenes in August 2019. Graduates of this program are
awarded a Master of Science (MS) degree in National Resource Strategy. Students are
also enrolled in the Senior Acquisition Course (SAC) as part of their studies.
2. SAC is the preeminent course for members of the federal acquisition workforce and
consists of the entire 10-month Eisenhower School curriculum, complemented by two
prescribed elective courses, which address contemporary and future policy issues in
the field of acquisition. This course is designed to prepare selected civilians,
already highly experienced and well credentialed, for senior leadership and staff
positions throughout the acquisition community. SAC students are fully integrated as
part of the school's student body, a mix of war fighters, operators and joint
specialists; plus support, diplomatic and federal agency personnel, international
fellows, and representatives of American industry.
3. In order to fulfill the objectives of the course, all Eisenhower School SAC
nominees should be Senior-Level (Level III) certified in at least one acquisition
career field. Nominees possessing Mid-Level (Level II) certification with senior
level experience will be considered for course entry on a case-by-case basis.
Additionally, the clearance prerequisite for the course of instruction is SECRET,
which must remain current through the year-long course of instruction.
4. Neither relocation nor Temporary Duty (TDY) expenses are authorized for this program.
5. The required DOD Senior Service School application package is available at the
