SUBJ:  COLLEGE STUDENT PRE-COMMISSIONING INITIATIVE (CSPI) EDUCATION ELIGIBILITY CHANGES

1. This ACN announces a policy change to the CSPI education eligibility requirements and is
effective for applicants beginning with the 06-19 CSPI Panel on 10 Dec 2018, REF (A).
2. The following Education eligibility requirements for the CSPI program found in REF (B),
CH.7.E.1, Table 7-4 are added:
   a. Have at least 30 credit hours accrued by the projected program entry date at an
accredited college or university designated as a MSI or otherwise approved by the Coast
Guard, and the
   b. Accredited college or university designated as a MSI or otherwise approved by the
Coast Guard must be within 100 miles driving distance of a Coast Guard unit or
Recruiting Office unless otherwise approved by CGRC. CGRC will maintain the list of
qualifying schools.
3. Policies and standards in REF (B) not specifically addressed in this ACN remain in
effect. REF (B) will be updated to reflect the mentioned changes and will be released
within the next year. All other requirements defined in REF (B) remain in effect.
