Subject: Skillsoft Platform and Content to Hire Our Heroes to Empower Veterans
BOSTON, March 12, 2018 - Skillsoft, the global leader in corporate learning, today announced a donation of its award-winning Percipio platform and Business, Digital and IT Skills content to Hire Our Heroes (HOH). The solution will help 100,000 veterans gain the knowledge, skills and tools necessary to make a strategic impact in the workforce.
Hire Our Heroes is a non-profit organization operated and founded by veterans for veterans. The organization's goal is to lower unemployment and help deliver an all-around talent acquisition and retention strategy for employers to attract veterans. To assist veterans looking for a new career or a career promotion, HOH trains, mentors and coaches program participants to help them transition back into the civilian workforce after active duty.
To help upskill this workforce, Skillsoft has given HOH access to the Percipio intelligent learning platform, which delivers an intuitive design and consumer-led experience to engage users and accelerate learning. The platform leverages Skillsoft's highly engaging multi-modal content, curated into hundreds of learning paths that are continuously updated to ensure customers always have access to the latest information. The veterans can decide when, where, and how to learn through micro-learning courses presented in a modern, user-centric experience.
"Education is the key that will help position veterans for success and from being underemployed. This Skillsoft partnership helps solidify Hire Our Heroes as the leading non-profit in the space, offering best-in-class services and tools necessary with the end goal of positioning all veterans for success in their next career once they leave the service," said Dan Caporale, founder of Hire Our Heroes. "The Skillsoft solution will enable veterans to maximize their potential and compete on a level playing field. I'm thrilled to share more details about our Skillsoft solution at their Perspectives 2018 conference."
"Our nation's military veterans deserve rewarding civilian careers, and we know the transition from the military is not always easy. Skillsoft is proud to donate the Percipio licenses and learning content that empowers former military members to succeed in the civilian workforce," said Chad Gaydos, Chief Operating Officer of the Skillsoft Group. "We're honored to help break down barriers to employment for veterans and build their confidence and skill sets that are essential for today's modern worker."
Access to Skillsoft's platform and content will provide HOH participants an immersive learning experience and the industry's most extensive multi-modal library of courseware, videos, books and book summaries. The Skillsoft content library also provides a "go-to" hub for veterans preparing for over 100-different business and IT certifications. Participants will also be able to gain essential skills, including project management, cybersecurity, understanding of emerging technologies and digital skills, among many others. Throughout the partnership, Skillsoft and HOH will work together to measure the impact of the program, which will include analysis of skill gain, certification obtainment, job placement and job promotion.
