BRANSON, Missouri – The Coast Guard will oversee salvage operations, coordinated by Ride the Ducks, of the sunken duck boat Stretch Duck 7, Monday.

Stretch Duck 7 remains at the bottom of Table Rock Lake off of the stern of the Showboat Branson Belle. The salvage plan includes bringing Stretch Duck 7 to the surface, taking it to shore and transporting it to a secure facility for further inspection and investigation, where the National Transportation Safety Board will maintain custody of it.

Salvage operations are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Media attending must arrive no later than 8:30 a.m.

Once the vessel is removed from the water, Coast Guard Capt. Scott Stoermer will provide a brief statement about the salvage operations and will be available for a short time to answer questions from the media present about the salvage operation.

A media viewing location is established near salvage operations. For safety purposes, no more than 15 media outlets and no more than two people from each media outlet will be granted access. If more than 15 media outlets RSVP, a media pool will be required. In that case, a list of media that RSVP'd will be provided to all media that RSVP'd, and media will be responsible for working together to identify who will be included in the pool. Other than Capt. Scott Stoermer, salvage crews and other personnel on scene will not be available for media interviews. Media desiring access to the established viewing location must RSVP by emailing uscoastguardheartland@gmail.com no later than 8 p.m. Sunday, July 22.
