Coast Guard Band to perform free concert in Portsmouth, VA

PORTSMOUTH — The Coast Guard Band is scheduled to perform a free public concert Wednesday, June 6, at 7 p.m., at Willet Hall in Portsmouth, Virginia as part of the band’s 2018 mid-Atlantic concert tour.
Lt. Cmdr. Adam Williamson leads an engaging program with works by Bernstein, Wagner, Sousa and others. Dazzling soloists include soprano Petty Officer 1st Class Megan Weikleenget, as well as instrumentalists from the band.

The Coast Guard Band is the premier band representing the United States Coast Guard and the Department of Homeland Security. The 55-member ensemble is based at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut.
