SUBJ:  2018 CFC CAMPAIGN – IMPORTANT INFORMATION
1. This ALCOAST provides important information about the 2018 Combined Federal
Campaign (CFC) contributions. First, let me thank Service Members for participation in
the largest and most successful method in which the Coast Guard helps others in need.
Second, with the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) transition to the new CFC centralized
electronic system, some one-time changes were necessary that affected the 2018 CFC contribution
allotment period.
2. There are five important things Service Members need to know regarding 2018 CFC contributions:
   a. All one-time donations made via credit card or debit card are final.
   b. Due to the technology change by OPM’s move to CFC’s new centralized electronic system,
2018 CFC deductions did not start until February through April 2018 timeframe.
   c. As with past CFC campaigns, 2018 CFC allotments will end December 2018 IAW the pledge
form and the Online Donation System. Service Members cannot increase the amount of 2018 CFC
contributions to compensate for the shortened allotment period and reach the original total
donation allotted.
   d. Changes to CFC contributions are limited to cancellations only. Cancel a contribution
either by logging in: https://cfcgiving.opm.gov/welcome or by calling OPM’s Help Center at
1-800-797-0098.
   e. For all self-service requests and/or questions regarding CFC allotment contributions,
go directly to: https://www.opm.gov/combined-federal-campaign/.
3. Again, participation in the 2018 CFC campaign is greatly appreciated.
4. RDML William G. Kelly, Assistant Commandant for Human Resources, sends.
