Coast Guard invites public to safety fun day at Station Oak Island, NC
WHO: Coast Guard Station Oak Island, North Carolina, crew members, along with other public safety agency representatives
WHAT: Safety fun day to demonstrate and discuss different services offered by first responders
WHERE: U.S. Coast Guard Station Oak Island, 300-A Caswell Beach Rd., Oak Island, NC
WHEN: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., Saturday, April 28, 2018
OAK ISLAND, N.C. — The Coast Guard invites media and the public to attend the annual U.S. Coast Guard Station Oak Island Safety Fun Day at the station, Saturday.
Coast Guard crew members along with North Carolina first-response agencies will demonstrate a variety of search and rescue gear and procedures and will be available for interviews.
Children will enjoy activities and marvels to include a heaving line toss, fire trucks, police cars, Coast Guard boats, survival suits, a rescue swimmer demonstration, Sammy the sea otter and much more.
Admission is free but requires a photo ID for adults. Hamburgers, hotdogs and snacks will be available for cash sale.
