Coast Guard Medal for Heroism presented to Westport, Wash. Coast Guardsman

A Coast Guard Medal was presented to Petty Officer 1st Class Jacob Hylkema, a boatswain's mate at Coast Guard Station Grays Harbor, during a ceremony held at the station's base in Westport, Wash., April 6, 2018.
The Coast Guard Medal was presented to Hylkema to recognize his heroic efforts in rescuing a man off the Long Beach Peninsula, Oct. 6, 2016.

The Coast Guard Unit Commendation Award was presented to the unit for the three rescues unit personnel conducted on the night of Oct. 6, 2016, where nine people were rescued in three separate search and rescue cases during a 20-hour period.
