SUBJ: AY18 RECRUITER IN CHARGE SOLICITATIONS
A. Military Assignments and Authorized Absences Manual, COMDTINST M1000.8A
1. PSC-EPM-2 is soliciting for the following Special Assignment positions:

2. This message solicits all interested E7 candidates for an assignment as a
Recruiter in Charge (RIC). All members tour complete in AY18, not in receipt of
orders and AY19 are eligible to apply. Members must have prior recruiting experience.
3. The expected report date is 01 July 2018.
4. Prospective RIC's should be energetic, demonstrate infallible character and
professionalism, and have strong leadership skills. RIC's are responsible for
all recruiting programs in an assigned region. Duties include independent duty
leadership, mission planning, training, and administrative oversight of the recruiting
office. This rewarding position offers the opportunity to shape and influence the future
Coast Guard workforce.
5. Process/Timeline:
A. Interested candidates shall submit a request through their Chain of Command via
e-mail to HQS-SMB-PSC-EPM-2-SpecialAssignments(at)uscg.mil with a subject line:
(NAME, EMPLID, RECRUITER IN CHARGE CANDIDATE), NLT COB 12 February. This
Command e-mail shall state the candidate meets the minimum requirements listed
in Chapter 1.E.2.A. of Ref (A) along with a recommendation and any backfill concerns.
The recommendation should highlight the candidate’s abilities to lead in challenging
environments, time management skills, organizational and administrative skills, and
motivation for application.
B. 14 February - 28 February: CGRC will coordinate and conduct in-person interviews with
prospective applicants.
C. OOA 5-7 March:  PSC-EPM-1 will convene a screening panel for prospective applicants. 
D. Selectees will be issued orders NLT 31 March. Non-selectees with AY18 tour completion
will continue to follow AY18 timeline IAW ALCGENL 148/17.
