Coast Guard medevacs 2 from Carnival cruise ship in Key West

MIAMI — The Coast Guard medevaced two people from the cruise ship, Carnival Magic, Wednesday in Key West.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Key West received two medevac requests from the Carnival Magic for a 65-year-old man with a reported eye injury, and a 72-year-old man with reported stroke-like symptoms. Station Key West launched a 45-foot Response Boat—Medium boatcrew to meet the cruise ship at the Key West sea buoy.
The two patients were transferred ashore to awaiting emergency medical services and transported to the Lower Keys Medical Center.
