MEDIA ADVISORY: Coast Guard to commission Heartland's newest cutter Friday

NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard is holding a commissioning ceremony for the Coast Guard Cutter Jacob Poroo in New Orleans Friday.

The Sentinel-class fast response cutter is homeported in Pascagoula, Mississippi, but will operate throughout the vast and unique area of the Coast Guard’s Eighth District.

  • Who: Vice Commandant of the Coast Guard Adm. Charles Michel, keynote speaker.
  • What: The Coast Guard is inviting the media to attend the commissioning ceremony for the cutter Jacob Poroo.
  • Where: Julia Street Cruise Terminal, 920 Port of New Orleans Place, New Orleans, Louisiana 70130.
