Coast Guard medevacs 64-year-old man from Naval Facility on San Nicolas Island
SAN PEDRO, Calif. — The Coast Guard medevaced a 64-year-old man from the naval facility on San Nicolas Island, Wednesday afternoon.
At approximately 2:00p.m., San Nicolas Island Naval Facility personnel contacted Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach watchstanders reporting a 64-year-old contractor was experiencing stroke-like symptoms.
After consulting with the duty flight surgeon, Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach watchstanders dispatched an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Forward Operating Base Point Mugu to assist.
The aircrew arrived on scene and transported the man to St. John's Regional Medical Center in Ventura County.
The man was last reported to be in stable condition.
