Coast Guard, multiple agencies searching for diver in Niagara River near Buffalo

CLEVELAND — The U.S. Coast Guard and multiple agencies are searching for a diver in the Niagara River near Buffalo, New York, Friday.

There is no Coast Guard imagery available for this case.

Just after 1 p.m., watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Buffalo were notified that a diver went missing during a dive in the Niagara River.

Crews from Coast Guard Station Buffalo responded aboard a 45-foot response boat and began to search. While searching it was discovered that the tender cable had parted. The diver's secondary dive tanks were also recovered on the waters surface.
