Coast Guard continues search for missing woman approximately 30 miles west of Cay Sal
MIAMI — The Coast Guard continues to search for a missing Delray Beach resident Monday approximately 30 miles west of Cay Sal, Bahamas in the Florida Straits.
Missing is Isabella Hellman, Delray Beach resident, who was last seen aboard the 37-foot catamaran, Surf into Summer, at approximately 8 p.m. Sunday.
Watch standers with the Seventh Coast Guard District Command Center received an emergency position indicating radio beacon alert at approximately 1:30 a.m. Monday from the Surf into Summer. The watch standers also received a call from the International stating the owner, Lewis Bennett, of the vessel reported his boat was taking on water after the vessel reportedly struck an unknown object and that he was abandoning the vessel. Bennett notified the Coast Guard that his wife was missing.
Rescue crews were directed to launch to assist in the search for Hellman.

- A Coast Guard Air Station Miami HC-144 Ocean Sentry airplane crew
- The Coast Guard Cutter Kathleen Moore crew
- The Coast Guard Cutter Charles David, Jr. crew
