Coast Guard reports bridge closure

 

NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard is reporting a waterway closure after a vessel allided with the bridge near Clinton, Iowa, Friday.

Coast Guard Sector Upper Mississippi River watchstanders received a notification at 11:45 p.m. of the towing vessel DOTTIE STRAIT alliding with the Sabula Railroad Bridge at mile marker 535 on the Upper Mississippi River.

The bridge will be closed to marine and rail traffic until inspected by divers. 

There were no reported injuries or pollution.
