Media Availability: Coast Guard to hold decommissioning ceremony for cutters Cushing, Nantucket in Atlantic Beach, NC
WILMINGTON, N.C. —The Coast Guard is scheduled to hold a joint decommissioning ceremony Wednesday for cutters Cushing and Nantucket in Atlantic Beach.
The ceremony is scheduled to be held at Sector Field Office Fort Macon, located at 2301 E Fort Macon Rd., Atlantic Beach, North Carolina, at 1 p.m.

Cutters Cushing and Nantucket are 110-foot Island Class Cutters homeported in Atlantic Beach. Their crews conduct missions including maritime homeland security, migrant interdiction, fisheries enforcement and search and rescue.
