U.S. Customs and Border Protection sent this bulletin at 06/05/2026 12:19 PM EDTPORT OF SAVANNAH
TO: Terminal Operators, Vessel Agents, Carriers, and Stakeholders
Port of Savannah, Georgia
FROM: Joshua B. Nutzhorn
Area Port Director
Savannah, Georgia
SUBJECT: I-95 paperless implementation.
Effective July 1, 2026, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) at the Area Port of Savannah, Georgia will transition to the paperless I-95 Crewman’s Landing Permit. All other regular CBP processing will remain the same. This is a nationwide initiative. CBP is coordinating with industry to help ensure our cruise, cargo, and airline partners are aware of any modified procedures. With that said, ports, agents, operators, carriers and stakeholders may need to convey these changes to individual vessel captains, masters, agents, and crewmembers.
-
Due to certain ports authorities and security services requiring physical proof of valid D1 status, crewmembers will need to generate their electronic I-95 aboard the vessel (should they be granted D1 status.)
• Crew members can retrieve their Form I-95, as proof of their approved landing status, by going to the I-94/I-95 website (https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov) and printing out a paper copy. Crew members can also retrieve a digital copy of their most recent I-95 using the CBP Link mobile application.
