SUBJECT: Closure of Livestock Trade through Southern Ports of Entry due to concerns of New World Screwworm

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Field Operations, Agriculture Programs and Trade Liaison (APTL), is ensuring awareness of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Animal and Plant Health Inspection Services (APHIS), Veterinary Services import alert regarding New World Screwworm (NWS). Effective immediately, the USDA APHIS VS has ordered the closure of livestock trade though southern ports of entry. This guidance supersedes all previous guidance on this matter.
