CSMS # 63355171 - UPDATE: Electronic Export Manifest (EEM) Appendix J – Response Code Updates
This message is an update to CSMS # 63129226.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) updated the Electronic Export Manifest (EEM) application by implementing three (3) validations to promote accurate formatting in the EEM party details and Destination Country:
- 640— MISSING SH PARTY INFO— B/L Shipper party information is missing
- 641— MISSING CN/UC PARTY INFO— Both B/L Consignee and Ultimate Consignee party information are missing. Need provide at the least one of them.
- 642— INVALID DEST CTRY CODE— B/L Consignee/Ultimate Consignee party info country code is not provided or is not valid.
EEM also implemented one (1) validation to promote the cargo description be provided in the bill of lading. NOTE: A description of “empty container” can be used when exporting empty containers from the United States to foreign.
- 007 – INVALID D01/N10/CARGINFO – Cargo description not provided.
For programming efforts, all validations are available in CERTIFICATION and set to FATAL.
All validations have been added to the EEM (IG) Appendix J – Response Codes:
CSMS #63129226 identified December 11, 2024, as the deployment date. Promotion of the validations to PRODUCTION has been delayed until January 2025. Another CSMS message with deployment information will be broadcasted closer to implementation date.
