CSMS # 62555774 - Announcement of Centralized Examination Station Application Period and Selection Process for the Area Port of Chicago

This Public Bulletin is being issued to notify the importing community that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is now accepting applications to operate a Centralized Examination Station (CES) in the Area Port of Port Chicago, IL and to provide guidelines for the application. The initial phase of the process will consist of a 60-day application period, or "open season."

Applications to operate a CES must be received by 4:00 p.m. on November 26, 2024. Please see attached solicitation to apply. Public comments must be received by 4:00 p.m. on October 27, 2024.

The Port Director is required to issue this Public Bulletin pursuant to 19 C.F.R. §118.2.
