CSMS # 62482262 - Temporary guidance on addressing USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) Animal Plant Health and Inspection Service (APHIS) errors
APHIS and CBP (Customs and Border Protection) have identified the following issues in Production related to recently deployed validations. An update is expected to be deployed to Production on Thursday, October 3, 2024, between 05:00 a.m.to 07:00 a.m. Eastern Time.
1. an issue with error “PGW (NVLD QNTY FOR COM CHR QUAL CODE PER PGA)” related to rules APH_APQ_035B & APH_APQ_035C.
In the interim, per APHIS guidance, filers can change weights and leave the characteristic as either SSL or SLL using the following guidelines:
SSL with a weight over 500g or .5KG SLL with a weight under 500g or .5KG
2. An issue with error “PJ5 (MSNG OR INVLD ENTITY ROLE CODE PER PGA)” when reporting Consolidator (CR) information in PG19/20.
In the interim, please don’t use CR. This relates to rules APH_GLOBAL_062, APH_APQ_028.
3. An issue with error “PR6 (INVALID INSP OR LAB TEST STUS CD PER PGA)” when reporting a PG14 A07.
In the interim, do not report a PG14 with A07.
Following the Production deployment, APHIS would appreciate if filers can send a PGA Correction (CA) within 10 days of Release to correct Entries filed under the above guidance. APHIS appreciates your patience during this time.
A CSMS will be sent following the October 3rd Production deployment letting trade know to discontinue this guidance.
