CSMS # 61264910 - UPDATE: Early Deployment of SE20 EDA Mandate
On July 25, 2024, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will deploy an update to the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) that requires the submission of the Reference Identifier Qualifier Estimated Date of Arrival (EDA) in the SE20 record for all de-minimis shipments filed as an entry type 86 submission. When the Reference Identifier Qualifier is EDA, an estimated date of arrival must be provided for the Reference Identifier. This should be reported as MMDDYY.
This development will be available in the Automated Commercial Environment certification environment on July 11, 2024.
The ACE Cargo Release Implementation guide v36.1 with SE20 Record Update for EDA can be accessed at: https://www.cbp.gov/document/guidance/draft-ace-cargo-release-implementation-guide-v361
This programming was originally scheduled to deploy as part of upcoming programming to enforce the $800 daily threshold for de minimis shipments. CBP has split this deployment into two releases, so the trade community can program and test the programming related to the EDA prior to deployment of validations to enforce the daily de minimis threshold.
The new deployment schedule is:
Release 1 (SE20 EDA): Cargo Release Only
- CERT: 7/11/24
- PROD: 7/25/24
Release 2 (validation to enforce $800 daily aggregated threshold for de minimis shipments): Cargo Release, Manifest and Truck
- CERT: 7/25/24
- PROD: 9/28/24
Questions regarding the above updates can be directed to CBP via e-mail at ecommerce@cbp.dhs.gov.
