CSMS # 55754136 - Truck Manifest CAMIR – Party Validation

This is a courtesy notification to advise that CBP will begin validating the accuracy of Party IDs for shipper and consignee data within the Truck EDI message sets (X12 and UNEDIFACT). CBP will ensure that the PARTY ID Validation for shipper and consignee data are submitted as per the Implementation Guide. If they are not provided, they will receive a rejection notification as follows - 487 for "Missing Req Ship Party Data"

For X12 309 Message: The party ID validation, will look at the N104 "Identification Code" data element. If it is empty, we will look for an N3 and N4 segment to contain the name and address information.

For EDIFACT: The Party ID validation will look at the CUSCAR NAD segment's C082/3039 "Party Identifier". If it's empty, we will look for the name and address of the remaining appropriate composites and data elements of the NAD segment.

This validation is expected to be in CERTIFICATION environment April 6, 2023. CBP will issue an updated CSMS once a PRODUCTION deployment date for this validation has been identified.
