CSMS # 55326449 - REMINDER – Expansion of Section 321 Data Pilot
CBP is pleased to announce the expansion of the Section 321 Data Pilot and is now accepting new applicants to participate in the pilot. There is no limit to the number of volunteers CBP will accept for the expanded pilot, which will now end in August 2025 unless further extended.
The Section 321 Data Pilot was implemented in August 2019 to test risk segmentation benefits of accepting advance data from e-commerce supply chain partners. The pilot has resulted in faster and more accurate risk assessment and adjudication for CBP and fewer CBP holds. By increasing pilot participation, the agency expects these benefits will increase as well.
CBP is excited to expand the Section 321 Data Pilot and onboard new participants to:
- Provide additional companies the opportunity to develop processes for gathering the data from various sources in the supply chain to transmit a single and complete filing.
- Identify future trade facilitation benefits.
- Explore new technology that can be incorporated into future regulation.
CBP encourages participation from stakeholders in the e-commerce environment, including carriers, brokers, freight forwarders, as well as online marketplaces. For details on participating in the Section 321 Data Pilot, please click the link below or email CBP at ecommerce@cbp.dhs.gov.
