CSMS # 54241086 - FDA Prior Notice Processing Delay
Due to an excess number of submissions, the FDA is experiencing a backup in Prior Notice processing. All entries are queued for processing and will continue to process through this backup, but some entries are delayed by as long as 2 to 3 hours at this time.
During this time:
- Prior Notice status messages will be delayed by about 2 to 3 hours until the backlog clears.
Prior Notice impact during this time:
- Prior Notices can still be submitted via the Automated Broker Interface (ABI)/Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) or via the FDA Prior Notice System Interface (PNSI)
- The processing delay may lead to Prior Notices being reviewed beyond expected timeframes (Truck/Land: 2 hours, Rail/Air: 4 hours, Sea: 8 hours). If possible, please file your Prior Notices early to mitigate the impact of the delay.
- Please do not resubmit Prior Notice as this will cause additional delays.
For questions regarding Prior Notice, or with perishable shipments, please contact the FDA's Division of Food Defense Targeting (DFDT). The DFDT can be reached 24/7/365 at (866) 521-2297 or prior.notice@fda.hhs.gov
For ACE inquiries, contact FDA ACE Support, 877-345-1101, ACE_Support@fda.hhs.gov. ACE Support Hours: Monday - Friday, 8AM-8PM
