CSMS # 54093016 - Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Outreach Message to Importing Community to Provide Awareness of Enoki Mushroom Product Codes

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has become aware of multiple instances of Enoki Mushroom shipments being transmitted with incorrect product codes.  

Please note that the only appropriate product codes for Enoki Mushrooms are as follows:

25 P [][] 11 - ENOKITAKE MUSHROOMS, WHOLE (BUTTON) (FUNGI)

25 Q [][] 14 -  ENOKITAKE, PIECES & STEMS, SLICED

25 R [][] 14 -  ENOKITAKE, BROKEN OR KIBBLED

25 S [][] 14 -  ENOKITAKE, N.E.C.

Additionally, Enoki mushrooms may also be referred to as “Seafood mushrooms,” and please note that the same product codes would apply.
