CSMS #50933382 - INFORMATION: February 7 Quota opening: Large Residential Washing Machines 2022 Period 1

In alignment with Presidential Proclamation 9693 under Section 201 of the Trade Act of 1974, be reminded that the 2022 quota year providing for tariff rate quota (TRQ) for large residential washing machines and covered parts opens on February 7, 2022.

In alignment with Presidential Proclamation 9979 of January 23, 2020: Quantitative limitations applicable to imports of large residential washers under HTS subheadings 8450.11.00 and 8450.20.00 are limited on a quarterly basis.

In alignment with Presidential Proclamation 10133 of January 14, 2021 the trade remedy measures on large residential washers and covered parts are extended through February 7, 2023 and specified quota limits and duty rates for the additional years.

Large residential washers are limited on a quarterly basis:
Period 1: February 7, 2022 to May 6, 2022 – 300,000 units without rollover
Period 2: May 7, 2022 to August 6, 2022 – 300,000 units without rollover
Period 3: August 7, 2022 to November 6, 2022 – 300,000 units without rollover
Period 4: November 7, 2022 to February 7, 2023 – 300,000 units without rollover

Covered parts for washing machines are limited on an annual basis:
February 7, 2022 to February 7, 2023 – 130,000 units

All entries submitted prior to 8:30 am ET and on February 7, 2022 will be counted in the first opening at 8:30 am ET. If the accepted entry totals submitted prior to the first opening exceed the limit they will be prorated.
