As part of this HSU, the United States Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (USDA APHIS) Lacey Act Program has modified HTS Code 4415 Flags. USDA APHIS has changed the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) code flag for the Chapter 44 heading 4415 and subheadings to a Lacey Act declaration maybe required, AL1. This modification will allow trade to use the Lacey Act disclaimer codes “A” and “B” for HTS code 4415 entries on not new wood without modifying import software or practices.
