CBP is aware that Entry Summary types 01, 02, & 06, transmitted with a Reconciliation flag, are being rejected with error F162 IMPORTER NOT APPROVED FOR RECONCILIATION.
There are two reasons for this error:
• The Importer does not have an Active Recon Bond Rider on file on, or before the estimated entry date of the Entry Summary transmission.
• The Importer is not approved for Reconciliation in their ACE Importer account.
The second reason is where CBP found numerous ACE Importer accounts that were approved for reconciliation had been turned off.
In the interim, Filers should submit entries as a stand-alone Cargo Release, and then send the Entry Summary with the Reconciliation flag once CBP has resolved this issue.
This work around is just for entry summaries that need be flagged for Reconciliation and are receiving rejections for Error Code 162.
In addition, Filers should verify that an active Reconciliation Bond Rider is on file before transmitting their entry.
