• Live animals for consumption should be filed under Industry Code 52 and class D (not subclass as indicated in #16-000945) and require prior notice data. Live animals imported for pet or ornamental use should be disclaimed. Please be advised the requirement to file prior notice for live animals for consumption has not changed since the implementation of ACE. This requirement will now be enforced.



• In addition a new validation was put in place to ensure entity information is transmitted correctly as per FDA’s Supplemental Guide Requirements. Delivered To Party and Ultimate Consignee are mutually exclusive. For Prior Notice, Ultimate Consignee must be transmitted. For admissibility purposes (801(a)), Delivered To Party must be transmitted. Both are not allowed on the same line. If DP and UC are sent the following error message will fire:
