Leave No Child Behind This World Day Against Trafficking in Persons
Today is World Day Against Trafficking in Persons. Since it was proclaimed by the United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in 2013, this observance has served as a yearly reminder that human trafficking impacts millions worldwide — and that we can #EndHumanTrafficking if we work together. Blue Campaign is proud to amplify this important message.
This year’s theme is: “Leave no child behind in the fight against human trafficking.” It is estimated that a staggering one out of every three people impacted by human trafficking globally is a child. To ensure that no child is forgotten, the campaign encourages you to raise awareness about this horrible crime. Here are a few ways you can participate:
-
Spread the message: Download our ready-to-use social media graphics and newsletter content, virtual background, and email signature graphic to participate in raising awareness on this World Day Against Trafficking in Persons.
-
Encourage your network to subscribe to the CCHT Chronicle: When your friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers sign up for the Center for Countering Human Trafficking’s (CCHT) monthly newsletter, they’ll become part of a network that receives updates on campaign activities and resources they can use to combat human trafficking in their community.
-
Engage with Blue Campaign on social media: Follow @DHSBlueCampaign on X, Facebook, and Instagram for everyday human trafficking awareness and education information. Throughout July and beyond, you can share Blue Campaign posts to spread awareness with your friends and followers.
-
Educate your staff, stakeholders, and communities: Blue Campaign offers a variety of free downloadable and shareable materials, including those centered on understanding youth exploitation. Check out our toolkits, awareness videos, and more.
-
Sign up for Blue Campaign’s World Day Against Trafficking in Persons Webinars: Today, the Campaign will be hosting two Human Trafficking 101 webinars for the general public through Webex. “Time to Take Action: How to Recognize and Report Human Trafficking,” hosted in English and Spanish, will focus on the importance of being able to identify and report indicators of the crime.
