Find a Human Trafficking Training for You

Blue Campaign has a number of newly released videos and interactive training resources. These trainings cover a variety of topics, including human trafficking recognition and response, how to protect yourself from victimization, and the use of a victim-centered approach for law enforcement. There is a training for everyone. Explore them today:

  • First Responder Training: Learn to recognize and respond to suspected human trafficking as a first responder.
  • Disaster Responder Training: Learn to recognize and respond to suspected human trafficking as a disaster response volunteer or professional.
  • Convenience Retail Employee Training: Learn to recognize and respond to suspected human trafficking as a convenience retail employee.
  • Youth Professional and Caretaker Training: Learn to recognize and respond to the suspected human trafficking of children and young adults, and ways to prevent victimization among youth. This information is for adults working with or caring for youth.
  • Campus Law Enforcement Training: Learn to recognize and respond to suspected human trafficking in a campus environment using a victim-centered approach. This information is for campus law enforcement and public safety officials.
  • “Choices” Course: Learn how to protect yourself from becoming a victim of human trafficking through this interactive course.
  • “Changes” Course: Learn to recognize and report human trafficking as a member of the general public through this interactive course.
  • “Consequences” Course: Learn the consequences of engaging in human trafficking activities through this interactive course.

Blue Campaign offers a wide variety of human trafficking awareness materials to educate the public on how to recognize and report a crime. Many of these materials are available for order at no cost. BLI Corner

BLI Hosts Panel Discussion with Aviation Industry Partners

On Wednesday, March 23, the Blue Lightning Initiative (BLI) held a panel discussion for aviation industry organizations interested in learning about how to get involved in anti-human trafficking efforts. Nearly 300 individuals attended the panel discussion, where BLI partners Delta Air Lines, the Houston Airport System, and Ohio State University Center for Aviation Studies shared how they train employees and aviation professionals, raise public awareness of human trafficking, and report a crime to the appropriate channels. A human trafficking survivor also provided insight on what the crime can look like in an aviation setting.

Attorney General Merrick B. Garland Announces Justice Department Strategy to Combat Human Trafficking (U.S. Department of Justice)
On February 1, United States Attorney Richard G. Frohling of the Eastern District of Wisconsin joined Attorney General Merrick B. Garland in releasing the Justice Department’s new National Strategy to Combat Human Trafficking pursuant to the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act. The new strategy aims to enhance the department's capacity to prevent human trafficking; to prosecute human trafficking cases; and to support and protect human trafficking victims and survivors.

LA Human Trafficking Operation Rescues More Than 80 Victims (U.S. News & World Report)
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the annual "Operation Reclaim and Rebuild" was held leading up to Super Bowl LVI in Los Angeles. Law enforcement announced more than 80 human trafficking victims were rescued, including eight children, and 34 suspected traffickers were arrested.
