Learn How to #BeCyberSmart  

Human trafficking can happen anywhere and to anyone. The internet is no exception. October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month and is being promoted through a partnership between the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSM). Blue Campaign encourages you to join the conversation and share information about how to #BeCyberSmart when communicating online.

Blue Campaign will also be hosting a Twitter chat with CISA, Project iGuardian, and NCMEC on October 28th at 1PM ET to share more information about how to #BeCyberSmart and protect yourself and the children in your life from online threats 

100 Days Until #WearBlueDay  

100 days until wear blue day.

October 3rd marked 100 days until Blue Campaign’s #WearBlueDay. Each year, the Campaign recognizes National Human Trafficking Awareness Day on January 11th with #WearBlueDay. In recognition of this important day, and throughout the month of January, Blue Campaign will host several activities to bring awareness to human traffickingStay tuned for more information about #WearBlueDay and January activities in the coming months.

The Texas Legislature Passes New Laws to Help Prevent Human Trafficking (KAGS) 
The Texas state legislature passed two new human trafficking laws during its regular session. Building on legislation that requires cosmetology and massage establishments to post human trafficking awareness signs, this legislation will mandate adding contact information for the Department of Public Safety. It will also require driver education and safety courses to include information pertaining to human trafficking. 

U.S. Attorney Seeking Victims Advertised on CityXGuide.com (Justice.gov) 
Acting U.S. Attorney Prerak Shah announced that the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas is seeking victims who were trafficked on CityXGuide, a commercial sex website shut down by the federal government in June 2020. Victims, who are afforded rights under the Crime Victims’ Rights Act, are encouraged to submit their information at https://bit.ly/3oj3xwh
