Rural Business Development Grant program funds can be used to provide technical assistance and training for small rural businesses. However, individual businesses are not eligible to apply. Funding is instead provided to public entities (municipalities, nonprofits, authorities, Federally-recognized Tribes, etc.) and used to benefit rural areas.

Overview of program: RBDG grants help to promote economic development and create jobs for people in rural America. Funds may be used to establish business support centers or to finance job training and leadership development in rural areas. They may also be used to purchase or develop land; repair or modernize buildings; finance feasibility studies or business plans; or purchase equipment to lease to small or emerging businesses.
