Solar Energy Helps New Farm on the Road to Financial Sustainability: USDA Rural Development invested $7,866 in Rural Energy for America Program grant funds into the Replenova Farm in Maine to help power the farm and market with solar panels. Since the installation of the solar panels, the 23 kW system powers the entire business, including the fully electric commercial kitchen and retail store and in 2024, the project has paid for itself.

DeSoto Regional Health Breaks Grounds on $50 Million Expansion with $32 million USDA Loan, Enhancing Emergency and Urgent Care for Rural Louisiana: With a $32 million direct loan from USDA Rural Development’s Community Facilities program, DeSoto Regional Health hospital in Mansfield, Louisiana, was able to add a 16-bed medical/surgical unit, a 9-bed emergency department, and a 30,000 square foot medical office housing a rural health clinic, sleep lab and administrative offices.
