USDA Investing in Human Capital for Eastern Montana
BOZEMAN, Mont., Dec. 28, 2021 – U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development (RD) Montana will be hiring a Rural Business Cooperative Services Loan Specialist to serve our Eastern Montana region.
The position is scheduled to post to USAJobs on or around January 4, 2022. Economic and community development organizations, county commissioners, job placement agencies and the media are encouraged to share this information in advance as the job posting will only remain open for a 5-day period.
Acting State Director Jake Ceartin noted that this newly-created position will allow USDA RD Montana to build stronger relationships within Eastern Montana's communities in an effort to expand funding and resources to help these rural towns prosper.
"Our goal with establishing this brand new position is to provide a targeted presence in Eastern Montana while building stronger partnerships with the community and economic development organizations, as well as the town leadership in these areas," stated Ceartin. "It's our hope that, by doing so, we will be able to provide funding for a number of projects which will allow this part of the state more opportunities for economic prosperity."
The Loan Specialist position will be remote, but the hired candidate will be expected to live in a town of his/her choosing that is in or east of Forsyth, Mont. This will allow easier access to the coverage area.
"In collaboration with the Loan Specialists who work out of the Bozeman State Office and service this area, this additional resource will provide boots-on-the-ground accessibility to expand our programming and reach parts of the state that have historically been underserved and underfunded," Ceartin noted.
USDA RD Montana will send out an email update directly following the job posting announcement with the link to apply.
