GUS Import Issues
The Rural Development Help Desk is diligently working to resolved Help Desk tickets as quickly as possible. We have received several calls/emails/etc. regarding the import error messages. A very common message received is:
“MISMO XML Contents do not pass the MISMO & Extension Schema Validation”. Usually these requests do not contain enough information from the user to provide a resolution.
If you are receiving the message: "MISMO XML Contents do not pass the MISMO & Extensions Schema Validation" when uploading applications into GUS, the message is indicating that there is an issue with the XML file you are trying to import and that it does not meet the Fannie Mae DU MISMO 3.4 v1.8.1 specification.
When importing a loan application file into GUS, please ensure you are importing a Fannie Mae DU MISMO 3.4 v1.8.1 file. Depending on your LOS/POS system, you may have different XML export options. The correct export option should reference Fannie Mae “DU MISMO 3.4”.
Some other common data issues we see on failed imported XML files that also cause a Schema error message are:
- Fields in the XML where a numeric value is expected but XML contains text
- MSA field contains 'NA' but the field is defined as 5-digit numeric value
- DependentAgeYearsCount contains text or is longer than 2 numeric characters.
- DependentAgeYearsCount is defined as 2-digit numeric value.
- Lender Loan # - max is 15 characters as defined by DU MISMO 3.4 v1.8.1 Specification. We are seeing loans fail because the lender loan number field contains Borrower Names or other text that causes field to exceed 15 characters.
If you have imported the correct file format and continue to receive the above referenced error message, please enter a new Help Desk ticket by emailing rd.createjiraticket@usda.gov.
Please include all the following details in your email:
- Time of import attempt
- Screen shot of the entire error message
- The web Browser and version you are using
- User Name (Name of the user attempting the file import)
- If you can encrypt the XML file, please attached that to the email.
