Webinar Regarding Limited English Proficiency Guidance
Executive Order 13166, Improving Access
to Services for Persons with Limited English Proficiency (LEP), requires
Federal agencies to develop processes that help make services available to
persons who are not fully proficient in English. Within Rural Development,
the Office of Civil Rights has been spearheading this initiative and will be
hosting a series of webinars to aid in understanding the agency’s LEP
requirements for assisted programs. The webinars are open to anyone
interested in attending; however, those involved in the certified loan
application packaging process and/or the self-help program are strongly
encouraged to attend. Each webinar (listed below) will cover the same
content and is scheduled for approximately two hours. All attendees should
confirm their attendance by emailing Darren Kaihlanen at Darren.kaihlanen@wdc.usda.gov.
For group attendance, please designate one person to email the attendee
roster. If there is a need for special accommodations, please contact Mr.
Kaihlanen as soon as possible and at least two hours prior to the intended
webinar.
