THE FUTURE OF FIET: Roadmap & Vision Updates
As we navigate the dynamic landscape of the FIET project, we are pleased to share a compass that will guide our collective efforts – the FIET Project Roadmap. 🌐 This feature is designed to provide you with a clear and transparent view of what we are currently focused on, and where we plan to go in the coming weeks and months.
🔍 What to Expect: The FIET Project Roadmap will illuminate the path ahead, outlining key milestones, objectives, and focus areas. This roadmap will serve as a valuable resource to align our efforts and maintain a shared vision.
📈 Transparency and Collaboration: The roadmap is not merely a set of directives but a collaborative tool. We encourage each team member to review the roadmap and ask questions to help ensure we are sharing the right level of detail for our FIET stakeholders.
📆 Save the Date: Look out for the FIET Project Roadmap in each edition of The Monthly Momentum newsletter. This regular feature is our commitment to transparency, ensuring that everyone is well-informed and aligned with the journey ahead.

FACES OF FIET: Key Player Spotlight
Meet Dr. Lance Raymond!
How long have you been with USDA/FMS? I started as the Financial Management Services (FMS) Director in June of 2020. In September 2023, I assumed dual roles as the FMS Director and the Assistant Chief Financial Officer for Shared Services (ACFO-SS).
What is your role in OCFO? My role is to provide leadership and vision to manage and implement corporate financial management services and systems, preparation of USDA’s consolidated financial statements, financial reports, DATA Act compliance reporting, financial systems security and compliance with internal and external mandates. Additionally, I provide leadership and direction for budget and finance, procurement, resource management, human capital management, FMS COOP, and Emergency Preparedness.
What is your role on the FIET Project? As the FMS Director, I am charged with spearheading the transition of an SAP-based core financial system transition of Financial Management Modernization Initiative (FMMI) to S/4 HANA (i.e. the FIET project).
|
What are you most excited about regarding FIET or S/4HANA? The enhanced FMMI user experience. As with any upgrade, I know there will be growing pains, but I believe the enhanced user capabilities will excite both existing and new users. The possibilities for enhanced transparency for each user will lead to more informed decision making for USDA leaders. |
