USDA’s Michael Scuse Announces Higher Ethanol Blends Now Available to Motorists in Virginia
MANASSAS, Va. Oct. 24, 2016 – On Wednesday, Oct. 26, U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Under Secretary for Farm and Foreign Agricultural Services Michael Scuse will join state officials and business leaders to highlight the availability of higher ethanol fuel blends in Manassas and other parts of Virginia. Scuse, who was delegated the duties of Deputy Secretary of Agriculture earlier this year, and others will deliver brief remarks before taking questions.
Through the USDA-funded Biofuel Infrastructure Partnership (BIP), drivers can now fill their tanks with cleaner-burning renewable ethanol fuel blends E15 and E85. Last year, USDA announced it would partner with 21 states through BIP to nearly double the number of fueling pumps nationwide that supply renewable fuels to American motorists. With matching commitments by state and private entities, BIP is investing a total of $210 million to strengthen the rural economy.
