From Seed to Sip: Cheers to a Sustainable New Years
As we welcome the new year, let’s take a moment to reflect on what USDA’s $3.03 billion Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities effort accomplished in 2024. By leveraging partnerships with private companies, commodity groups, non-profits, universities and state, local and tribal governments, the USDA enrolled 21,000 farms in 135 climate-smart projects across the country, encompassing more than 5.2 million acres of working land. Read the full report here.
The resulting climate-smart commodities are starting to hit the shelves. For consumers whose New Year’s resolution is to reduce their carbon footprint, it may be as simple as taking a sip. So let’s celebrate the start of the new year with another toast – drinking sustainable spirits funded through The DeLong Co., Inc.’s “Grown Climate Smart” project. Cheers!
