Livestock Forage Program (LFP): The Jackson County FSA will take applications for the Livestock Forage Program beginning Monday, October 7 thru Thursday, January 30, 2025. LFP provides assistance to eligible livestock producers suffering grazing losses due to the county hitting a D3 (Extreme Drought) last week.
Producers should call 256-574-1005 ext. 2 to schedule an appointment.
NOTE: Appointment can be made, but applications will not be taken until October 7.
Annual Lease Agreements, CCC-855, or a copy of a rental agreement signed by both parties, will be required. CCC-855's submitted for 2023's LFP will not be accepted. This form can be emailed to you when you call for an appointment.
Any grazing land to be included in the application that has not been certified or certified land that has had changes will be considered late-filed and a fee of up to $46 a farm will be charged.
Livestock must have been owned on July 19. Inventory as September 17 will be needed for your application. For eligible livestock and breakdown of weight ranges see LFP Fact Sheet.
